ਅਥ ਬਉਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਤੇਈਸਵੌ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
अथ बउध अवतार तेईसवौ कथनं ॥
Now begins the description of the twenty-third Buddha incarnation
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਗਨੋ ਬਉਧ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਜੈਸ ਰੂਪ ਕਹ ਧਰਾ ਮੁਰਾਰਾ ॥ ਬਉਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਇਹੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਊ ॥ ਜਾਕਰ ਨਾਵ ਨ ਥਾਵ ਨ ਗਾਊ ॥੧॥
अब मै गनो बउध अवतारा ॥ जैस रूप कह धरा मुरारा ॥ बउध अवतार इही को नाऊ ॥ जाकर नाव न थाव न गाऊ ॥१॥
Now I describe the Buddha incarnation as to how the Lord assumed this form; Buddha incarnation is the name of that one, who has no name, no place and no villate.1.
ਜਾਕਰ ਨਾਵ ਨ ਠਾਂਵ ਬਖਾਨਾ ॥ ਬਉਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਵਹੀ ਪਹਚਾਨਾ ॥ ਸਿਲਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਰੂਪ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ ਕਥਾ ਨ ਜਾਹ ਕਲੂ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
जाकर नाव न ठांव बखाना ॥ बउध अवतार वही पहचाना ॥ सिला सरूप रूप तिह जाना ॥ कथा न जाह कलू महि माना ॥२॥
He, whose name and place are not described, he is only known as the Buddha incarnation; no one has accepted his sayings in the Iron Age, who visualizes the beauty only in stone (idols).2.

DOHRA
ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ ਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਛੁ ਅਰੁ ਕਛੁ ਨਹਿਨਾਕਾਰ ॥ ਸਿਲਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਰਤਤ ਜਗਤ ਸੋ ਬਊਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੩॥
रूप रेख जा करन कछु अरु कछु नहिनाकार ॥ सिला रूप बरतत जगत सो बऊध अवतार ॥३॥
Neither he is beautiful nor he does any work; he considers the whole world like stone and calls himself the Buddha incarnation.3.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਬਉਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੩॥
इति स्री बचित्र नाटके ग्रंथे बउध अवतार सतु सुभम सतु ॥२३॥

ਅਬ ਮੈ ਮਹਾ ਸੁੱਧ ਮਤਿ ਕਰ ਕੈ ॥ ਕਹੋ ਕਥਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ਬਿਚਰ ਕੈ ॥ਚਉਬੀਸਵੌ ਕਲਕੀ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਕਰ ਕਹੋ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
अब मै महा सु्ध मति कर कै ॥ कहो कथा चितु लाइ बिचर कै ॥चउबीसवौ कलकी अवतारा ॥ ता कर कहो प्रसंग सुधारा ॥१॥
Now, I purging my intellect, relate the story with full concentration of Kalki, the twenty -fourth incarnation and describe his episode, while emending it.1.
ਭਾਰਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੋਤ ਜਬ ਧਰਣੀ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਕਛੂ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਬਰਣੀ ॥ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਤਨ ਹੋ ਉਤਪਾਤਾ ॥ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਹ ਸੇਜ ਸੋਵਤ ਲੈ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
भाराक्रित होत जब धरणी ॥ पाप ग्रसत कछू जात न बरणी ॥ भांत भांत तन हो उतपाता ॥ पुत्रह सेज सोवत लै माता ॥२॥
When the earth is pressed downward by the weight of sin and her suffering becomes indescribeable; several types of crimes are committed and the mother sleeps for the sexual enjoyment with her son in the same bed.2.
ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤਨ ਰਮਤ ਨਿਸ਼ੰਕਾ ॥ ਭਗਨੀ ਭਰਤ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕਹ ਅੰਕਾ ॥ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਬਹਿਨ ਤਨ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਰਾ ॥ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਜੀ ਸਕਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
सुता पिता तन रमत निशंका ॥ भगनी भरत भ्रात कह अंका ॥ भ्रात बहिन तन करत बिहारा ॥ इसत्री तजी सकल संसारा ॥३॥
The daughter unhesitatingly enjoys with her father and the sister embraces her brother; the brighter enjoys the body of the sister and the whole world relinquishes the wife.3.
ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਬਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਏਕ ਗਯਾਤ ਕੋ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਅਤਿ ਬਿਭਚਾਰ ਫਸੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ ਧਰਮ ਰੀਤ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
शंकर बरन प्रजा सभ होई ॥ एक गयात को रहा न कोई ॥ अति बिभचार फसी बर नारी ॥ धरम रीत की प्रीत बिसारी ॥४॥
The whole subjects become hybrid and no one knows the other; the beautiful women are engrossed in adultery and forget the real love and the traditions of religion.4.
